  2. Great Days The Day Man Yielded To Sin Genesis 3:1-6 By Yielding To Sin, They: Revealed who they were serving (Gen. 3:13, 17) Were separated from God (Gen. 2:17) Had to bear the physical consequences of sin (Gen. 3:15-19)

  3. Great Days The Day Man Yielded To Sin Genesis 3:1-6 By Yielding To Sin: Christ had to come into the world (Gen. 3:15) Forgiveness (remission) required the blood of Christ (Matt. 26:28)

  6. Great Days The Day The Israelites Left Egypt Exodus 6:1, 12:31-33 God had fulfilled His promise (Ex. 3:7- 10, 13:3-4) God brought them out by His strength (Ex. 13:3, 14, 16; Deut. 26:8) Joseph’s bones were brought out of Egypt (Gen. 50:25; Ex. 13:19)

  8. Great Days The Day The Temple Was Finished I Kings 7-8 Was a fulfillment of God’s promise (II Sam. 7:12-17) “Dedication” day: I Kings 8 Here, the Lord put His “name” (II Sam. 7:13; I Kings 8:15-17)

  9. Great Days The Day The Temple Was Destroyed II Kings 25:8-10 This Temple meant nothing in light of their sin! (II Chron. 36:14-21) Jeremiah 7:2-15 (lists of sins) They thought since the Temple was there, they were safe. WRONG!!!

  10. Great Days The Day The Walls Were “Dedicated” Nehemiah 8 On this day, Ezra brings the book of the Law (v. 1-2) Great: Book (v. 2), Mass of people (v. 3-4), Message (v. 8) What a change from the hard-hearted folks of 70 years earlier!!

  15. Great Days The Day Christ Died On The Cross How could this be a great day? Our redemption was purchased (Matt. 26:28; Heb. 9:14-15) The church was purchased (Acts 20:28) The New Testament came into effect (Col. 2:14)

  16. Great Days The Day Christ Resurrected This was a day of victory! (Jn. 2:19, 21; Lk. 24:7) This was the first day of the week (Mk. 16:9) He is the “first-fruits” of those resurrected (I Cor. 15:20-23) Satan was crushed (Gen. 3:15) Baptism saves us (I Pet. 3:21)

  17. Great Days The Day Christ Ascended Acts 1:3 (Mk. 16:19; Lk. 24:50-53; Acts 1:9-11) Declares That He Rules Today (I Tim. 6:15) He will return (Acts 1:11; I Thess. 4:13-18)

  19. Great Days The First Day Of The Week This is the day we gather to worship God (Acts 2:42, 20:7) Hebrews 10:22-24; John 4:24 This is the day we offer spiritual sacrifices to God (Heb. 13:15-16) Singing, Prayer, Teaching, Lord’s Supper, Giving (Eph. 5:19; Acts 2:42)

  21. Great Days The Day You Become A Christian Your sins are washed away (Acts 22:16) Follow the form of doctrine (Rom. 6:18) You are adopted into God’s family (Rom. 8:15-17) Wear Christ’s name (Acts 11:26) Look forward to Heaven (Col. 3:1-4) Walk the “strait and narrow”(Matt. 7:13-14)
