Welcome to Miss Mullin's Science class! This year, we will explore various topics including the nutrition, digestive, respiratory, circulatory, excretory, nervous, skeletal, muscular systems, the senses, and genetics. Ensure you have the required materials like a binder, exercise book, and various stationery. Classes are held on specified days and periods; please be punctual and come prepared. Assessments will be based on class work, homework, projects, and exams. Review our new grading policy and important rules regarding tests and assignments.

Assessment • Each term will be based on the following: Class • work, Homework, Labs, Assignments (class and • home), Projects (class & home) and Tests • In addition, there are mid-year and June Exams
***New This Year*** 1-5+ scale ---- GONE!!! Marks are now in percent form Only 3 terms (not 4) What does this mean for you: -no more minimum mark (35%) -whatever you earn you get on your report card Final mark comes from: 20% of Term 1, 20% of Term 2 and 60% of Term 3 Ponderation
A valid note is needed for any missed test. A mark of zero will be given for skipping a test. No re-tests are given. • If a student is absent the day an assignment is due, he/she must hand in the work the following school day (upon his/her return), regardless of whether this is a scheduled class day or not. After this a mark of zero will be given. No make-up assignments will be assigned. (NB In the event that the absence is due to a family vacation etc then this must be communicated before the due date and the work turned in ahead of time) Rules Regarding Tests, Assignments & Labs
Some assignments and projects this year are to be completed with a partner or small group (3-4 students). Students will choose their own partner(s) and will be cautioned to take work ethic as well as geographical distance into consideration before forming their groups. Should a member of the group not complete his/her assigned task, it will have an effect on each member’s overall grade. No make-up assignments will be given.
