Graduate Australian Medical School Admissions Test • In March in all capital cities • Eligibility: Bachelor degree OR final year of degree • Three sections: • Section I: Reasoning in Humanities and Social Sciences (MCQ) • Section II: Written Communication (two 30 min writing tasks) • Section III: Reasoning in Biological and Physical Sciences (MCQ) assumes: - 1st year university biology (40%) & chemistry (40%) - Year 12 physics (20%) • Deakin: Minimum of 50 and 50 in each section • Result valid for 2 years www.gamsat.acer.edu.au

MEDICAL RURAL BONDED SCHOLARSHIP • Australian citizens or permanent residents • $24,594 in 2011 (indexed) - tax free, no means test • Practise in ASGC-RA 2-5 areas for six continuous years after completion of postgraduate training (including general practice) • ‘Scaling’ introduced in 2010: 40% reduction for ASGC-RA 5 practice (to 3.6 yrs)……10% for ACGC-RA2 www.health.gov.au/mrbscholarships
