Impact of Gd on Growth and Pathogen Resistance in Vicia faba and Nicotiana tabacum

This study explores the effects of Gd (100 µM) on the growth of Vicia faba and Nicotiana tabacum, specifically in relation to their resistance against pathogens Pseudomonas syringae and Pseudomonas tabaci. Overnight LB cultures of pathogens were used to inoculate plant leaves, and comparisons were made between control groups and those treated with Gd. The results illustrate notable differences in growth and necrosis levels post-infection, indicating the influence of Gd on plant health and pathogen interactions over a 48-hour observation period.
