  2. A Tool for Implementing Regional Development Strategies CBMS provides for a: • Well coordinated & unduplicated services by key players to LGUs • Improved service delivery to LGUs • Greater community satisfaction • Better appreciation of NGAs/Pos/Cos presence in the community

A Tool for Implementing Regional Development Strategies • Creates Awareness on the Development Status of the Region by giving: • clear & accurate indicators of poverty • identifiable service gaps • guides in planning & budgeting through the colour coded maps • reliable, relevant & comprehensive data on the welfare condition of the LGUs implementing the project across the provinces

  4. A Tool for Implementing Regional Development Strategies • Aligns PPAs with urgent development needs • Projects implemented resonate the demands of the constituents; • Projects are prioritized in accordance to its urgency • “Politicizing “of Projects is prevented

A Tool for Implementing Regional Development Strategies • Identifies Eligible Program Beneficiaries easily for: • Relief operations • InFRES Project Baseline Data Information • Kalahi CIDSS • Save the Children Foundation • ASSEF, FAO, UNICEF, OXFAM and other organizations • Distribution of wheel chairs & health cards • Gawad Kalinga Program

A Tool for Implementing Regional Development Strategies • Monitors the effectiveness of poverty reduction programs of the Government • Comprehensive data on the extent of MDG localization of LGUs • Provides accurate information on the impact of the implementation of other anti-poverty programs of the government • Tracks down the policies formulated which are found to be responsive to identified issues but are not being implemented

A Tool for Implementing Regional Development Strategies • Useful for National Government Agencies : • Digitized maps served as basis for the preparation of operational plans and the establishment of detachment areas by the Philippine Army; • Database valuable to the Philippine National Police particularly in searching for the whereabouts of the relatives of those apprehended • Utilized data for the completion of business requirements for the Tindahan Natin Project of the National Food Authority

Coverage of CBMS Implementation in Bicol Region • Entire Province of Camarines Norte – PEP CBMS Network Team with the League of Planners; • Entire Province of Masbate – PEP CBMS Network Team, BLGD, DILG V, NEDA V, WB-ASEM & UNFPA; • Pilot LGUs (Albay: Ligao City & Municipality of Libon; Sorsogon: Sorsogon City & Camarines Sur: Iriga City, Municipalities of Lupi & Minalabac) – PEP CBMS Network Team, DILG ROV, NSCB V & NEDA V

What we want to achieve in 2008 and onwards… • Regional Summit on CBMS • Establishment of Regional repository of CBMS data (NEDA V, NSCB V & DILG-LGRC ) for those LGUs which have completed data validation • Demand-driven regionwide implementation of the project • 120 LGUs to have poverty maps and plans • Continuous updating of database of pilot LGUs • Documentation of CBMS Best Practices of the Pilot LGUs • Continued partnership with NGAs and other stakeholders
