  2. Analyzing Gladwell’s Argument • Create a basic outline for the chapter • thesis, realtedclaims, evidence and examples, conclusions • Answer TEA Questions 1, 6, 7, 9

  3. Example Outline of Ch. 5 • Joe Flom • Physical description, family and educational background • Interview with Flom and others • Thesis: “Successful people don’t do it alone. Where they come from matters. They’re the products of particular places and environments” (119). • Can be proven by a look at successful lawyers in NYC. • The Importance of Being Jewish • Initial struggle: Joe was unable to find a job because he was Jewish. • Became part of a start-up firm. • Did whatever work came their way
