  2. Perseverance • Perseverance is not giving up, and always trying your hardest. • Synonyms -- determination, persistence. • There are a few examples of perseverance in music, books, TV shows, and movies.

  3. In class connection… • The Alchemist. • Santiago never really gave up on his dream, even though he wanted to. • When he worked in the crystal shop, Santiago wanted to make enough just to get his sheep back, and not follow his dream.

  4. Now lets go out of the classroom… • The song “Move along” by All American Rejects is about the struggles of everyday life. • The song says “And even when your hope is gonemove along, move along just to make it through.” this is telling the listener that even when you want to give up, just keep going, and don’t stop. • Lyrics/song…

  5. Even farther out… • When Forrest was younger, his mom • was told that Forrest would never amount • to anything. Even though he knew that, he • went on with his life not caring about what • people said about him. • Forrest Gump • Also, the doctor told Forrest that he could not run, but he tries anyway, and succeeds. • “Run Forrest, Run!”

  6. Time to get personal… • Lets turn the clock back to Saturday, the 12th. I was at crew call for tech theater, like I always am. I was sitting down to take a break because I had been there all day, when a support wall for a giant book we were building, fell on my head. Later that day, I went to the doctor’s office, and they said I had a concussion. Ever since, I have had extremely bad headaches and dizzy spells. Even though all of this is happening, I am trying to keep life normal; at-least as normal as I can be. P.S. come see our play!! Dates, times, and prices are right there!

  7. Could it be the end? • Perseverance is never backing down, and following through with your goal until it is completed, even when the road gets tough. This is Rick Allen, the drummer from the rock band Def Leppard. As you can see, he only has one arm, but still has found a way to be one of the best drummers in history.
