  1. There are over 3,000 species of palm trees. They generally grow in a warm and tropical climates such as states like Florida and California. They can be divided into two groups, the fan shaped (palmate), and the feather shaped (pinnate). Some things that grow on palm trees are coconuts and Euterpe, a fruit found on acai palm. Some uses include the making of hats and clothing. Many people in New Guinea use the sago palm as a source of food. They are in the Plantae Kingdom, and the order is Arecales. It also has 5 subfamiles.
