  2. What is the black civil rights movement? • To outlawing racial discrimination against African Americans,restoring voting rights in Southern states, and better quality of living with equality given to all.

  3. What did it aim to achieve? • Aims of the BCRM: enforce segregationequality for blacks. Sit in cartridges in trains not in the luggage compartment, same entrances to buildings as white people not separate side door. Better hospitals and schools funding facilities, better jobs, allowed to eat in the same areas as whites, accepted as human beings with rights and privileges.

  4. What are the issues? • Values of races • Equality • Rights • Minorities Vs Majority • Racism • Shift of power • Fear of change • Pros and Cons • Uncertainty of the future

  5. MLK • MLK-broadening policy aim was to unite Americas poor, rally of a few thousand in Washington to camp there for a few days and get the government to allow blacks to have jobs. During the planning for this campaign this destiny called him to help and speak at a garbage workers campaign in Montgomery and he was shot dead. Because of this the government hurriedly passed the open housing acts bill. Which allowed blacks the sale and rent of houses the same as whites no discrimination in housing and the police would follow it up. Would most likely not have occurred without his death, it played a big part in the progress of the civil rights movement.
