  2. We are all teachers of reading and writing. On a sticky note, write down: 1) –One truth to statement above. 2) –One challenge/problem to this. 3)—One benefit if this statement was instead: We ALL teach reading and writing.

  3. Three Musketeers Get into groups of 3. Introduce yourself. Tell your experience with Common Core. Designate who will be an A, B, & C.

  4. A’s Share what your wrote down for: The truth in the statement: We are all teachers of reading and writing AND why teaching these skills is important (the benefit).

  5. B’s Share what your wrote down for: One challenge or problem with the statement: We are all teachers of reading and writing AND explain how teachers might challenge this additionally.

  6. C’s Share what your wrote down for: All 3 statements (1 truth, 1 challenge/problem, and 1 benefit). Give yourself UP TO 30 seconds to think about what everyone has shared. Create a summary, a 1-sentence synthesis of what was discussed.

  8. What did we just do in this activity? • Read statement to comprehend its message • Analyzed what we thought of the message personally • Wrote down opinions of the “truth, challenge/problem, and benefit”. • Discussed with partners the above opinions.
