  6. Question • What if we did a one off event: ‘Wines you can’t afford’? • Say we charge £10 (members) and spend about £250 on wine. • 7 wines – Ave price about £18 per bottle! • Would you come? (Show of hands please)

  7. Report - Accounts

  8. Report - Publicity

  9. Communications Posters have been discontinued – still have ad in newsletter and on website and email with flyer attached. General trend in attendance is up! Which is good news please do promote ‘us’ to friends and colleagues. Word of mouth recommendation seems the best way to get new members. Please remember to respond to the email promptly so we can plan accordingly… No shows – lost us quite a lot of money at times…please, please let us know if you are unable to come but have said you are attending.

  10. Survey results • Thanks to those who replied • General feeling was positive but some concerns • Simpler system for doing ‘jobs’ wanted • Majority were happy to continue with current system • Ideas for future events: Italian, South American, American, comparison of same grape style • Bluffers tasting guide the most popular last 12 months • Summer events: vineyard tour, cellar tour, wine festival visits, wine weekend! • Dislikes: people talking over presenters, pouring wine before presenter has finished talking about it!

  11. Thank you • To anyone who has stood up and presented over the last 12 months • To everyone who has done jobs throughout the year • To you all for your continued support! • If you have good ideas for events or anything else wine related, but don’t know how to get started - email us!
