Longwood University • It was founded in 1839 and officially became a university in 2002 • It is located in Farmville, Virginia. • It was founded as the Farmville female seminary association at first, and then it was changed to the Farmville female college. It officially became Longwood in 1949. • The college mascot is the Elwood:

  3. Facts • It has an undergraduate enrollment of 4,800 • The degrees offered there are bachelors and masters. • There is a 2:1 girl to guy ratio. • The faculty ratio is 18:1. • 60% graduate in 6 years. • Freshmen's aren't allowed to have cars.

Money talks • The tuition for living on campus the first year is 23,657 and off campus is 22,433: and at home is 17,909. • Weekly Meals are used for all-you-care-to eat meals at Dorrill Dining Hall (RfoC) for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Your card is swiped at the entrance of the dining facility and a meal is subtracted automatically deducted from your plan.

  5. Why Longwood? • This college interests me because, it has a small town setting and I heard great things about it that fit my criteria of a college that fits me. It also isn't to far from home.

  6. If attended Longwood… • I would be a political science or marketing/business major. • I would like to live off campus, if I have to I would live on campus the first few years. • I would get involved by getting a job and joining a few clubs or having a social life. • I would pay for the activity or sport from the job I acquire.
