Title I at Winn Holt Elementary School provides at-risk children with equitable access to high-quality education, aligned with the No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB) of 2001. Our school promotes parental involvement in decision-making processes and offers resources to foster student achievement. We celebrate our recognition as a distinguished Title I school for two consecutive years, meeting Annual Yearly Progress (AYP) requirements and utilizing data to drive continuous improvement through our Local School Plan of Improvement (LSPI). What is Title I? • Title I ensures at risk children have a fair, equal, and significant opportunity to obtain a high-quality education and reach, at a minimum, proficiency on state standards and assessments. • It is part of the No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB) of 2001
Guidelines, Goals, Expectations • More control and flexibility is given to schools and school districts to use resources where they are needed most • Learning environments are provided for at risk students to learn the Academic Knowledge and Skills (AKS) and achieve at the same high levels expected of all students
Title I Documents • Parents assist in making decisions and developing documents for the school through a Title I committee • Parents will receive a copy of the local school Parent Involvement Policy, Action Plan, School-Parent compact and district policy and plan in a Title I handbook sent home with the student • Parents are encouraged to volunteer and get involved
Local School Plan of Improvement (LSPI)Annual Yearly Progress (AYP) • We are a distinguished Title I school for the second year • CRCT results drive our LSPI goals yearly • LSPI goals are on a continuum for improvement-addressed yearly • AYP requirements met all 5 years • Parent Complaint process regarding implementation of Title I-available upon request
