Geographical position: • Romania is situated in Southeastern Europe and it borders on Ukraine (North and East), the Republic of Moldavia (East), Hungary (West and North-West), Serbia (South-East), and Bulgaria (South). • The country has an area of 238.391 km2. • Flag. • red, yellow and blue vertical color bands, with blue on the hoist side.

  3. Time Zone - Summer: GMT + 3(the last Sunday in March until the last Sunday in October); - The rest of the year: GMT + 2 Climate - transitional between temperate and continental. The average summer temperature is between 22oC and 24oC, reaching values of 38oC. During winter, the average temperature remains below -3oC

Banknotes currently circulating are: 1, 5, 10, 50, 100, 200 and 500 RON. Coins currently circulating are : 1, 5, 10 and 50 bani.
