  1. Welcome to Texas Tech University File Early

  2. Student Business Services Information • Student Business Services is a student service oriented office that is here to help you and make the process of paying tuition as simple and convenient as possible. • We welcome student and parent comments and suggestions at any time. Please let us know how to serve you better!

  3. Location • Our office is located at 163 Drane Hall. Our lobby hours are Monday through Friday 8 AM until 4:30 PM.

  4. Telephone • Telephone questions will be answered at either our local number 742-3272 or toll free 866-774-9477 from 8 AM until 5 PM each day.

  5. Internet • Access to your student billing information is available at a minimum from 7 AM until midnight every day. • Access to the SBS website is 24/7.

  6. Important Dates & Information • Fall 2004 due date for advanced registration is August 23, 2004. • 1st Cancellation – August 23, 2004 For the 1st cancellation only, students with Parent PLUS loans will have their registration held; therefore will not be cancelled. • 2nd Cancellation – September 15, 2004 • 3rd Cancellation – September 27, 2004

  7. Billings • Paper billings will be mailed on August 6. • You do not need to wait for a paper billing to pay. Payment arrangements may be made at orientation, or via the web at anytime after registration. • If changes are made to the schedule after the paper billings are sent, you must go online to see the new amount due. No follow up billings will be sent.

  8. IMPORTANT • It is very important that payment arrangements are made by the due date. • If payment arrangements are not made, the advanced registration schedule will be cancelled and a new schedule will have to be obtained during open registration.

  9. Payment Options • Use a credit card or check to pay on the web • Pay with a check or money order by mail • Use the Payment Option Plan (in fall or spring) • Utilize an Emergency Enrollment Loan (tuition and mandatory fees only) for 90 days interest free • Receive and accept a financial aid award package

  12. 3 Payment Option Plan • Requires 50% of tuition and fees (including housing, dining and optional fees) • Student billed in two additional monthly payments-October 1 and November 1 in Fall, February 15 and March 15 in Spring. • Forms available at www.sbs.ttu.edu • Form, 50% payment of tuition and fees and $25 processing fee must be received by the due date for the semester that it is requested.

  13. Payment Option Plan (cont) • If a student would like to use the payment option plan, the student must do one of the following: • Sign and Mail the payment option plan agreement form to Student Business Services, Texas Tech University, MS 41099, Lubbock, TX 79409

  15. Emergency Enrollment Loan • Interest free 90 day loan • Loan covers only tuition and mandatory fees • Forms available at www.sbs.ttu.edu • $25 processing fee must be sent with the form by the due date for the semester that it is requested

  16. Emergency Enrollment Loan (cont) • If a student would like to use the emergency enrollment loan, the student must do one of the following: • Sign and Mail the payment option plan agreement form to Student Business Services, Texas Tech University, MS 41099, Lubbock, TX 79409

  18. Financial Aid • Students who have received and accepted a financial aid award package will have their funds (excluding Parent Plus Loans) automatically applied to their tuition and fee bills. Parent PLUS loans will be mailed directly to the parent. • If the applied aid does not cover 100% of tuition and fees, the student will need to cover the remaining costs with one of the other payment options.

  20. Refunds • Direct Deposit • Faster • All direct deposits up to 10 days prior to first class day • No fee for the service • Form available at www.sbs.ttu.edu • Refunds by check available beginning on the first class day. Must have current address in system.

  21. Credit Card Refunds • All refunds for payments made by credit card will go back as credits to the same card.

  22. Incidental Fee Bills • During the semester, incidental fees such as traffic & parking, additional meal plans, library fines, etc may be added to the tuition and fee bill. • Monthly billings are sent the 10th of each month due the 1st of the following month. • We encourage students and parents to view and pay these balances online.

  23. E-mail reminders • E-mail reminders are sent to the student’s official e-mail address of record. • These reminders may indicate a balance due, impending cancellation of schedule or that a hold has been placed on their record.
