SIGMICRO Oral History Project • Leader: Yan Solihin • Historian: Paul Edwards • 18 candidates were considered. • Roughly half from academia, half from industry • Goal: Select one from each category • Criteria: • Candidate has made a significant contribution to microprocessor technology, or computer architecture/systems in general. • Recognized as such by peers through awards. • Candidate has not been interviewed extensively. • Initial Subjects: • Edward Davidson: • Stanford, UIUC, and Michigan Faculty member. Pipeline Design, Multiprocessor Systems, 49 PhD and 38 MS students graduated. • Bob Colwell: • Chief IA-32 Architect: Pentium Pro, Pentium II, Pentium III, Pentium 4, National Academy of Engineering. Interviews in April and May
