DFCS Mission and Vision It is the missionof the Georgia Department of Human Resources, in partnership with the local communities, to assist individuals and families in achieving safe, healthy, independent and self-reliant lives. In support of the mission of the Department, the Division of Family and Children Services has as its statement of purpose, to be the provider of a service continuum that promotes the well being of children and families as well as the economic self-sufficiency of all Georgians. An integral part of this continuum of services will be community development opportunities and supports.

  4. Board Terms • County Commission appoint board members. • Five (5) years beginning July 1 and ending June 30. • County Board must have 5 to 7 members.

  5. Board Compensation • $15.00 per diem per meeting. • County funds may supplement per diem. • Compensated for mileage, meals, accommodations, and registration fees.

  6. Form 5357Bill for Services Rendered.

  7. Organization of the Board • Board Chairperson • Vice Chairperson • Secretary (County Director serves as the Secretary)

  8. Roles of Board Members Link between the County Department and the Community • Enhance the public standing • Garner support from the community • Evaluate the performance of programs
