  1. Pronoun Agreement Making nouns (antecedents) & pronouns(he, she, him, her, it, they, their, them) all singular or all plural to avoid confusing agreement problems in your writing or the annoying “Prn-Agr” code on your papers. See Chapter G3-a in A Writer’s Reference, pp. 217-221

  2. Pronoun Agreement 1) A student wanted to know their FEE results. A studentwanted to know his or her FEE results. 2) Most parents hope his children do well in school. Most parentshope their children do well in school. 3) The essays were graded, but no one picked it up. The essayswere graded, but no one picked them up.

  3. No one was scared to do (his/her their) final paper. No one was scared to do his or her final paper. Everybody had (his/her his their) own opinion about the FEE. Everybody had his or her own opinion about the FEE. Each phone has (his/her their its) own cellular data plan. Eachphonehas its own cellular data plan.

  4. Neither of those students knew (his/her her their) grade. Neitherof those students knew his or her grade. (See G3-a: Indefinite Pronouns, WR. p. 218) Tim and Jill took (his/her her their) time on the presentation. Tim and Jill took their time on the presentation.
