  2. New Eco-School committee • In September we set up a new committee. • We have two representatives from each class. • For the Early Years Unit we have two pupils from year 5 who report back to the pupils in the unit.

  3. Environmental audit review • We completed an audit review. • We compared last years review with this years review to see what progress has been made.

  4. We drew up an action plan • To see what we need to do this year. • To try to do as much as we can to improve the school.

  5. Litter and healthy eating. • Year 6 pupils to sell fruit – to raise funds and to promote healthy living. • We completed fruit surveys to see what fruit was wanted. • Every week pupils to complete a litter survey to look at how much rubbish is the yard and if it reduces over the term.

  6. Recycle white paper • Eco-committee and whole school will recycle white paper. • Recycle trays in each class and a recycle container in the yard. • No cost to school as the company will pay for weight of paper. • Eco-committee to survey the amount of paper recycled.

  7. Save energy-turn off taps and lights • Eco committee and whole school initiative. • Poster campaign and competition in second half of Spring term. • Meter reading and monitoring during Spring term with the help of Mr. Ryland.

  8. Save energy installation of hippos • Hippos installed in all toilets – completed by Summer term. • No cost as saving on water bills. • Monitoring the water meter in Spring and Summer terms.

  9. Save energy installation of a wind turbine • Install wind turbine. • We are still looking into the chance of a wind turbine. We have a £500 grant but need to still look into further costs and planning permission.

  10. composting • Gardening club is set up. We need to continue with this during Summer term. • Bins already being used in the yard. We need to appoint monitors to ensure that all fruit waste is being recycled.

  11. School Environment planters • Continue to build on planters from previous year during Summer term.
