  1. 6thGRADE SCIENCE

  2. Life Science • Course Description In this course you will: • Learn about various topics and concepts in life science fro the perspective of a Christian worldview. • Seek God’s wisdom to apply biblical principles to those topics and concepts. • Have the courage to do what is right in light of your knowledge of life science and the wisdom provided by God.

  3. Materials required daily for class are: • Binder with dividers, lined notebook paper (81/2 x 11 inches), and pen or pencil. • A set of colored pencils. • Each student will receive a textbook. Textbooks MUST be covered and brought to class daily. DO NOT WRITE IN THE TEXTBOOK even though there are workbook pages!! • Students will be marked “unprepared” if they do not have these materials each day.

  4. SCIENCE CAMP Science Camp will be from September 4th-6th this year. During this week there will be trips to Burney Falls, Lassen National Park, as well as science labs, activities, chapels, games, etc., all designed to glorify and learn more about our Creator God.

  5. SCIENCE CAMP

  6. SCIENCE CAMP

  7. Science Fair • Every spring each student in the 7th and 8th science class will submit a project for the Science Fair. • Outside judges will come and assess the projects and there will be prizes as well as grades given on these projects. • They will be on display for Open House.

  8. Absentee Make-Up Policy • Students who miss school because of illness can have their guardian call the school and request assignment information. • If you know that you will be missing school because of some other reason, please let me know ahead of time so that I can get the work together for you. • Students going on a family trip must notify the school no later than one week before the trip, or it will be recorded as an unexcused absence. • The number of days absent determines when the make-up work is due. (Example—absent 2 days—homework is due two days after returning back to school). All make-up work must be turned in before the student takes the chapter test. • No absent work will be accepted after the test is taken.

  9. Grading • Students will receive 10 points for every homework assignment that is completed properly. • The answers must be written in the form of complete sentences. • Quizzes will be worth 20 points each. • Tests are worth 100 points each. • The student’s grade is a percentage based on points earned divided by points possible. Long term projects points will vary therefore will be announced at the time that they are assigned. • Ask me about “Engrade”!
