  2. The CFC • The largest & only workplace giving campaign for Federal employees on behalf of approved charitable organizations • Established in 1961 by President John F. Kennedy • Over 180 local campaigns that organize the annual fundraising effort in Federal workplaces in the United States and abroad • The most successful workplace philanthropic fundraiser in the world (Over $272.7 million dollars for charitable causes around the world) • A local campaign that is governed by an executive board made up of your Federal employee colleagues – Local Federal Coordinating Committee (LFCC) • LFCC approves all local charities • OPM approves all national/international charities • CFC CAMPAIGN DATES: • 1 SEPTEMBER – 15 DECEMBER Lead |Commit |Care

The CFC of South Hampton Roads • Efficient/effective; maintains low overhead (from 5.8% in 2011 to 5.6% in 2012) • Serves thirteen (13) Federal, Military & Postal Command Areas comprising of nearly 500 federal commands/agencies • Over 2,600 approved charities of which over 250 are local • Federal employees in SHR donated over $5 Million to CFCSHR in 2012 – exceeding $4.5M goal & ideal $5M goal • Over $1.2 Million donated to local charities • Number of personnel – Has been over 116,000 • Number of donors – Over 18,205 • Online Giving – over 200 Federal Commands/Agencies pledged over $880k Lead |Commit |Care

CFC of South Hampton Roads 2013 GOALS • 100% Contact in first month • Participation Goal: (donors who contribute) • 2013 = 19.7% or higher • 2012 = 15.7% • Dollar Goal: • 2013 = $ 5,000,000 or higher • 2012 Raised = $ 5,065,494 • Online Giving Participation Goal: • 2013 = 16.3% Donors to pledge online • 2012 = 12.3% donors who pledged online GO GREEN!!! Did You Know? • In South Hampton Roads: • Approximately 160,000 people were without healthcare in 2011 & 2012, but YOU raised over $29,000 towards • local CFC health charities in 2012! • $52/year supports 12 elementary school students with trained volunteer tutors to help with reading & math. Did you know that 5.3% • of public school kindergarteners are retained & the percent of students graduating from South Hampton Roads high schools is 62.5%. • But YOU raised well over $27,000 in 2012, in support of local youth charities! • In Virginia: • Losing a job leaves people with worries about their financial stability & future, but YOUR support of over $1M helped many unemployed Virginians. • In America: • There’s a significant rise in the suicide rate of our returning Veterans & in many cases the Veterans’ inability to care • for his/her family is significant, but YOU have shown great support with contributions of over $295,000 towards charities • serving Vets & mental health charities. • It is estimated that up to 25% of the total amount of carbon dioxide going into the atmosphere every year is • released from trees being cut & burned. But YOUR 2012 contributions over $145,000 supported education on • ways to help prevent increased air pollution in communities. • Around the world: • Every 20 minutes, the world loses one or more entire species of animal or plant life – at least 27,000 species per year, but • YOU have raised over $221,000 in 2012 in support of animal & wildlife charities. • A portion of people, of the 884 million that lack access to disease free water, now have fresh water • thanks to YOUR CFC contributions. These are just a few statistics and there are several more…What are you most passionate about? *You choose which charities receive your gift! *Payroll Deduction allows you to help all year long! *You can have confidence in knowing the CFC is a safe & proven workplace giving program for all Federal employees! Coordinator’s Role • Remember—this is YOUR campaign • Develop a plan to implement the CFC drive • Coordinate the CFC campaign for your Federal agency or tenant command • EDUCATE employees on importance & benefits of the CFC; Visit www.cfcshr.org • Encourage participation by ensuring everyone receives an opportunity to give • Encourage voluntary giving through payroll deduction. It’s easier! • Promote! Promote! Promote & Publicize Online Pledging! Visit www.cfcshr.org • Review your command/agency’s campaign history— Campaign Account Report • Involve & seek the support and commitment of your Leadership • Select co-workers (Key Workers) to assist you • Host a kick-off activity; include CFCSHR speaker presentation, fundraisers & internal incentives (Please be sure first to check with your JAG/Ethics Officer regarding fundraising activities.) • Run a Leadership Giving Campaign which involves Senior Leadership & donors who give at a leadership level of $240 annually Lead |Commit |Care

Coordinator’s / Key Worker’s Role Cont… • Distribute campaign materials: Pledge Cards & Charity Brochures • Direct staff to the website to pledge online www.cfcshr.org • Collect & verify the accuracy of donor information & donations (pledge cards) • Maintain a record of donors via the Campaign Report Sheet; specify leadership givers and distribute their Leadership recognition gifts • Turn in ALLPAYROLL/PSD carbon copies AND signed NEXUS payroll copies to respective Command Pass Coordinator (CPC)/Payroll Office by 1 December • Turn in ALLCFC carbon copies AND cash/check payments to CFCSHR at: • Complete your campaign with 100% contact of personnel • Say THANK YOU- to donors, Key Workers, Volunteers & Event staff • Evaluate Results CFC of South Hampton Roads 2515 Walmer Ave Norfolk, VA 23513 KEEP THE FUN IN FUNDRAISING!! Coordinator’s / Key Worker’s Role Cont… DEPLOYED COMMANDS • Distribute campaign materials (i.e. pledge cards, charity brochures) to personnel within YOUR respective tenant command • Direct YOUR staff to the website to pledge online www.cfcshr.org, if applicable • Collect & verify the accuracy of donor information & donations (pledge cards) from YOUR respective tenant command staff only • If your command is deployed with another command: • Please ensure that you DO NOT have completed pledge forms from other staff from other commands deployed with your command and vice versa • Maintain a record of YOUR tenant command’s donors via the Campaign Report Sheet; specify leadership givers and distribute their Leadership recognition gifts • Turn in ALLPayroll/PSD carbon copies AND signed NEXUS payroll copies to YOUR tenant command’s respective Command Pass Coordinator (CPC)/Payroll Office by 1 December • Turn in ALL of YOUR command’s CFC carbon copies & cash/check payments to CFCSHR at: CFC of South Hampton Roads 2515 Walmer Ave Norfolk, VA 23513 Lead |Commit |Care

Coordinator’s / Key Worker’s Role Cont… Campaign Materials Submit ALL carbon PAYROLL/PSD Copies andALL NEXUS Payroll copies (signed by donor) inside Payroll Envelope to your Command Pass Coordinator (CPC) or Federal Agency’s Payroll Office . Submit ALL carbon CFC Copies and ALL monies (cash/check) inside Campaign Report Envelope to the CFCSHR office. Complete a separate Payroll Envelope for Military & Civilian pledges. Making a Pledge (carbon form) Enter your SSN/Empl ID ONLY IF pledging via Payroll Deduction Complete form with your name, Agency/ Command name and Work address & Phone # If your pledge IS NOT payroll deduction, select Cash/Check and enter amount. Enter your ann’l total pledge amount or feel free to select an amount listed, for your convenience. Enter up to 5 Charities you wish to give to. Transfer an apportioned amount of your total gift to each charity. Otherwise, your gift will be undesignated. Do you want your charity(ies) to contact & thank you? If yes, enter your personal contact information. DO NOT enter your work email. Be sure to Sign & Date your pledge card ONLY IFyou are pledging via Payroll Deduction. Is your gift at a leadership level of $240 or more? If so & you wish to receive a donor leadership recognition gift, select appropriate gift.   29. 2013 Donor Leadership Recognition Gifts Eagle Award ($1500+) Donors who contribute at a minimum leadership giving level of $1,500 annually to the CFC South Hampton Roads campaign are eligible to receive the Eagle recognition gift. This recognition gift is a personalized CFCSHR Padfolio Writing Pad. The Flag Award ($240-$499) Donors who contribute at a minimum leadership giving level of $240 annually to the CFC South Hampton Roads campaign are eligible to receive the Flag recognition gift. This recognition gift is an exclusive personalized 2013 CFCSHR 100% USA Made Solid Brass Medallion Coin. The Beacon Award ($500-$1499) Donors who contribute at a minimum leadership giving level of $500 annually to the CFC South Hampton Roads campaign are eligible to receive the Beacon recognition gift. CFCSHR CAMPAIGN AWARDS PROGRAM The South Hampton Roads CFC Campaign Awards Program consists of recognition categories with specific criteria, designed to celebrate and recognize the creative efforts and campaign achievements of the Federal Agencies/Military Commands, Federal Civilian & Postal employees, CFC Coordinators and Volunteers. COMMAND AREA ACHIEVEMENT AWARD • GoalBuster Awards – Agencies/Commands that exceed dollar goal • Participation Awards – Agencies/Commands that have achieved 50% participation or more • Most Innovative CFC Campaign Awards – Agencies/Commands that have demonstrated the most innovative & creative CFCSHR campaigns. • CFCSHR Leadership Award – Arecognition is given to an individual CFC Coordinator who best exhibits a high spirit within the CFC campaign in completing their job enthusiastically and effectively by organizing, planning and implementing a successful workplace campaign within their Federal Agency/Command. • CFCSHR Hero Award – Arecognition is given to an individual CFC Volunteer who best exhibits the spirit of CFC in volunteering their time to a worthy cause and or charity, including a charity Board participation, etc. • Command Area Achievement Award (left) – Presented to the Command Area in recognition of the most outstanding CFC campaign in South Hampton Roads.
