  2. Mission Statement The purpose of Get Better Maine is to provide quality information on Maine’s doctors and hospitals so that citizens can make a better health decsion.

  3. Compare Maine Doctors This is where you search for doctors in Maine Can search ratings and locations By Practice name

  4. Compare Doctor’s (cont.) In order to search for a doctor you must first select the type of doctor For some doctor types you can narrow your search by selecting a specific condition

  5. Location of Doctor Defaults within 10 miles Can enter zip code or town name If you like to restrict your search to practices who are accepting new patients

  6. Compare Hospitals You can search by: Rating & Location Hospital Name

  7. Searching by Doctor or Practice Name Doctor type & Location are mandatory for the search Practice Name Auto fill capability

  8. Doctor’s Name Search Begin typing in first or last name and select your doctor from the drop down list.

  9. Compare Hospitals Compare hospitals by specific conditions and locations.

  10. Compare Hospitals by Name If you want information of a specific hospital Enter in Hospital name ** location is not necessary

  11. Results of Search Search results can sorted by quality rankings (highest to lowest) or distance (closest to farthest)

  12. Results of Search You can select up to 4 hospitals to compare side-by-side by clicking the check boxes to each hospital name. *note** If you would like to see 1 hospital ratings click on the blue link under each hospital’s telephone number

  13. View Compare Ratings • Choose up to 4 hospitals • Once you have selected the hospitals to compare • Click the yellow tab View/Compare Ratings

  14. Results of Comparison The key is located on the left hand corner Shows levels of recognition that each hospital can receive in each area.

  16. Details of the Practice In order to see more details of the practice “click” on the blue link Providers in the Practice Whether they are accepting new patients Driving directions

  17. Practice Details or “See Details” If you would like directions to the practice “click” on the “Blue” Directions button.

  18. Free Health Resources Categories Affordable Care to Prevention Each condition is further broken down into background information, self-care checklist, doctor checklist and local and national resources

  19. Condition Information Each topic in the health resources section has a general overview of the condition, including things like who is at risk and how many people in Maine it affects

  20. Self Care and Doctor Checklists Many topics include self care and doctor checklists that you can print out to help you remember what to do to stay healthy

  21. More resources In addition to resources on health conditions, you will also find tips on things like what to do if you think you’ve received poor care

  22. Health Resource Blocks On the side of health resources pages are blocks which highlight tools to help you understand and receive better care.
