  4. Preparation • “Go to the ant... consider her ways and be wise; which, having no captain, overseer or ruler, provides her supplies in the summer, and gathers her food in the harvest” (Proverbs 6:6-8) Ants and well diggers both have the wisdom to prepare ahead of time to meet future needs.

  5. People have Questions! Are we PREPARED to Answer? What's wrong with gambling? Why don't you use a piano in worship? Is it OK to drink in moderation? Why is baptism necessary for salvation? Will only members of the Church of Christ be saved? Does science contradict the Bible?

  6. We must be Prepared to Answer! • “But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear.”- 1 Peter 3:15

  7. We must Prepare to Answer! • To prepare to answer: • Study your Bible regularly. • Attend and participate in Bible classes. • Read quality religious material written by faithful brethren.  • Attend gospel meetings

  8. We must be Prepared to do Good! “Be ready for every good work” --Titus 3:1 • Set your mind on doing good! “Be careful to maintain good works” & learn to “meet urgent needs”(Titus 3:8,14) • Don’t allow all your time and energy to be spent on the cares, riches and pleasures of this life (cf. Luke 8:14) • Look for opportunities to do good. “Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all…” (Galatians 6:10)

  9. Prepare to Give to those in Need • Be “ready to give, willing to share” -- 1 Timothy 6:18. • To prepare to share…  • Avoid unnecessary and frivolous spending • Work to earn money so that you will have it to give! “…let him labor, working with his hands… that he may have something to give him who has need.” (Eph. 4:28)

  10. Are We Prepared? Let us determine to be “prepared for every good work”-- 2 Timothy 2:21
