  1. Design of FD S-Band BPM support : pending questions A.Jeremie and N. Geffroy (after discussions with colleagues from SLAC, KNU, KEK etc…)

  2. ADAPTER on the end of the cavity part of the BPM IS VERY IMPORTANT (dimensions have changed since this drawing. Now: Magnet bore is 50mm; OD of BPM pipe is 48mm, ID is 40mm) Is this adapter really needed? Just global centering or precise adjustment? How precise?

  3. How to Support S-BPM from QD0, QF1? Final Doublet Table Configuration (Okugi’s presentation, December meeting) QD0FF QF1FF SF1FF SD0FF 450.1 450.1 200 200 76.2 180 76.2 180 100 100 100 100 SBPM SBPM SBPM SBPM FFTB 2.13 S3.00 FFTB 2.13 S3.00 QC3 QC3 380 785 380 785 2630 Because S-BPM must move with quad, it must be supported from quad. There is no plate between quad magnet & mover. There IS a plate between sextupole and its mover. Since BPM with flanges, is the BPM “tube” around the beam-pipe or part of the beam-pipe? Will this transmit vibrations to the magnet? Does it need to be supported on both sides of the magnet? BPM must be supported here. (Cantilevered) No space here due to water/electrical connections.

  4. We prefer this solution: It looks more stable with respect to vibrations. And if, we make sure there is no contact between top and bottom part (except bolt), the BPM is really well fixed in the cradle. SLAC KNU But how is this “adjustable” part compatible with the “fixed” adapter seen on slide 2?

  5. Vertical stage from Newport (1700$ each) 130mm! !
