  1. When I was asked to create a montage’ of the first monster films of Universal Studios I was reluctant. Could I do them justice, was my first thought. Bring them to life, so to speak. But as I moved through the process I started seeing strange connections to questions all filmmakers ask; what do I want to know about life and how can I present my idea of what I think it is about? So, began my journey around the investigation into the mind of a filmmaker. Questioning, ever questioning???(My first observance is the word questioning has the word ‘quest’ built into it. What could that mean? AAAHHHH!!!!!!) BEFORE THE FINAL CUT

  2. Dracula (Universal Studios Classic Monster Collection) Starring Bela Lugosi, Helen Chandler, David Manners, et al. (1999)

  3. Grabbing? Dracula (75th Anniversary Edition) (Universal Legacy Series)

  4. The light on his eyes are not centered directly into them. Why? Is it because the actor would be blinded or was it for effect; to appear glowing but still sinister? Makeup would take care of that now. I am not sure why I picked this combo. Dracula The Legacy Collection (Dracula / Dracula (1931 Spanish Version) Dracula's Daughter Son of Dracula House of Dracula) Starring Onslow Stevens, John Carradine, Lon Chaney Jr., and more (2004)

  5. This one seems out of place. Have we viewed this one for plot? Does it match the others in the collection? What do we want to say about this one? Lon Chaney The Wolf Man The Legacy Collection The Wolf Man Werewolf of London Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man She-Wolf of London (1943)

  6. I’m not sure if I like the background on this one. The pictures are blurring. Can’t we choose another? 19. What are we creating here? Another Frankenstein? Or Frankensteen?

  20. Ok, what are we going to do with the Bride of Frankenstein clips? We loved the sequel from Frankenstein. The pictures are great of both the monster and the bride. I think it might be a great idea we plug the actors for both these roles; they were great. The makeup and hair took a lot of time to perfect for the lighting and camera angles. What about the plot of the movies? Man plays God to create man and then woman, sort of an Adam and Eve theme. And why is everyone referring to the monsters as Frankenstein, when the cast listing only says monster? These movies would be wonderful learning to tools for an academic course; philosophy, popular media, theology, or maybe even E-Literature. Darn it! I ran out of money…(damn it) What the bleep? Those darn censors, I never know what to say if I want a rating that is sellable. But, maybe go with what the public wants and I could make a ‘mint’! Maybe then I will have the answer to the question: What’s the purpose of life? One last thing, what is with the world turning in the wrong direction at ‘The End”?

  21. Are you nuts! We can’t end like that. And the world is not turning in the wrong direction, it is just an optical illusion in your brain due to too much, much. Don’t forget the credits. • Producer – Me • Director – Myself • Editing – I • Sound - Silence • Cast – Monster Movies • Movie Sources - Amazon.com

  22. The reviews are in and I have to re-shoot the endings. We’re replacing the director to someone I am not sure about, there name is ‘you’. Hopefully, ‘you’ won’t leave so much on the cutting room floor. I found out ‘myself’ isn’t with the times, there is no cutting room floor anymore it is all done electronically through something called hypertext. I had to look it up; Encarta Dictionary said it worked with “a system of storing images, text, and other computer files that allows direct links to related text, images, sound, and other data”. I suppose I will have to include Encarta in the credits, they will probably want a piece of the pie. They should be paying me for the advertising. There goes more of the budget. I guess I have to finally give into this thing called E-Literature if I want to stay competitive and still produce my art. Anyway, let’s look at the horrible review. I think only one critic reviewed the two we had finished, Bride of Frankenstein and Frankenstein. The critic is Cza de Moment from the NOW Journal, she is a very strange journalist. She looks like she just types up her notes as a review. Well, whatever the crazy form it couldn’t be any worse than “The Waste Land” by some old writer, T.S. Eliot or D. H. Lawrence or was it Mark Twain, no matter who - it is art.

  23. The NOW Journal Cza de Moment, Chief Editor 14 June 2012 • Bride of Frankenstein Divine Plan Cloning Psychics Mainly monster making Aaahhh! The psychic is Dr. Frankenstein’s, or is it Baron Dr. Frankenstein, wife Margaret or was it Elizabeth The Monster is played by Karloffe, or is it Karloff…who only has one name…maybe he was starting a fad…

  24. Movie opens with the novelist Lord Byron visiting a couple, very rich, and they are talking about the movie Frankenstein and how he was driven to find a mate. The woman tells the tale of how the story would be if a mate was created for The Monster. Never confuse The Monster with Frankenstein, cus Frankenstein is the Doctor/Baron; and a monster is his won right. The Monster could be an alter-ego? The woman, who resembles the Bride, who is the creation, not Doctor Frankenstein’s fiancé, starts the story where the movie Frankenstein left off – your basic sequel. Villagers set fire to the tower where The Monster threw Dr. F off the top - which is three to four stories high - and he survived the fall – foolish villager who lost his child to The Monster in the first film had to make sure The Monster was dead – so he went into the crumbled building. It was filled with water – where did that come from – sure the tower was a mill powered by wind – like an old Dutch Windmill – the tower was atop a hill – it had not rained – so where did the water come from?

  25. Of course, the villager finds The Monster and was drowned by him – then, the wife gets pulled into the crumbled tower – screaming ensues – her fate is sealed. Mary, who appears to be a villager but later is revealed to me Dr. F’s wife’s maid, runs into The Monster just after the killing at the tower, she screams, almost comically – The Monster just gggrrruuurrrggg’s and flashes his arms about both run in opposite directions…why did he not kill her?Sequels sequence of events??...............................................................?Mary scampers to the bergermeister (mayor) tells him who she ran into – DENIAL! Villagers found out…child killed (why?) maybe she screamed?)The Monster in woods – everyone is hunting him – hunting = hunting = hunting + torches

  26. Dr. Pretorius – queerest man – evilly creepy – reeks of sinistry and derangement – sort of stalks Dr. F to get him to join him for another creation – Dr. F emphatically, “NO!” Dr. F is forced into a meeting with Dr. Pretorius Dr. Pretorius presents his creations – little itty bitty people “grew them as nature did, from seed”, Dr. Pretorius states. Dr. F still refuses. Dr. Pretorius is mad (both meanings)! Eventually, Dr. Pretorius meets The Monster and join forces. Along with Fritz the hunchback, who may have been known as Igor in other versions and movies. Dr. Pretorius hatches a plan to kidnap Dr. F’s wife…done…Dr. F forced to help…becomes a little crazed… ”She’s ALIVE! She’s ALIVE!”

  27. He only wants a mate. He only wants a mate. This was insisted upon by Dr. Pretorius throughout the scenes he was in… The Monster just replies, gggrrruuurrggg! Want mate! Finally….she’s alive… she hisses at The Monster… he becomes forward… she rejects again… hides in Dr. F’s arms… The Monster sad… hurt feelings…MADDDDDDDD!!!!!! REJECTED!... over and over again. Dr. Pretorius upset… The Monster goes wild, of course… sets fire to tower… all die except Dr. F. Dr. Frankenstein and Mrs. Frankenstein live happily ever after.

  28. WARNING! DO NOT SEE BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN BEFORE SEEING FRANKENSTEIN…MESSES UP THE PLOTS…THEY TRULY ARE MEANT TO BE A SEQUEL EVENT. With that said, I think one review is enough to tell how this whole series of Monster Movie Montage will be greeted. Wow! It’s about Cloning??? Mating??? Divine Plans??? Thought it was Monsters kick ass. Who knew?! That’s a CZA de Moment review…a moment wasted! Do your own review on Frankenstein.
