The Project Life Cycle • Project selection - arise out of needs and involve commitments • Planning - preplanning, milestones, revisions • Implementation - doing what’s spelled out in the plan • Control - monitoring and dealing with variances • Evaluation - periodic “stock-taking” by objective observers • Termination - making sure loose ends are handled
Project Management in the Information Age • We have shifted from working with tangible stuff to less tangible information • The character of projects has become quite different
