  2. Trench Warfare • WWI was the first war to use trenches exclusively: long, deep holes dug to protect soldiers from enemy fire. • Trenches were dirty and it was easy to get sick living in one….. • Many soldiers died of the flu, which many got living in trenches.

  3. WWI Technology • Many inventions and technology came out of WWI that changed the way war was fought. Some inventions include: • U-Boat/submarine • Airplane • Tank • Poison Gas
