  3. Overview • 11 presentations in 3 sessions • Long, tough but fruitful discussions reached several rough consensus.

  4. Consensus Reached • Critical infrastructure assignments • Consider as special? Need policy? (v4/v6) -- YES • Proposed criteria? • Root DNS • gTLD/ccTLD name servers • IXs • IANA/RIRs/NIRs • From which block?(v4) -- Swamp (202/7) • Assignment Size? (v6) • /32 for routable (DNSs and registries) • /48 for non-routable (IXs) • Technical considerations might be added later.

  5. Consensus Reached (II) • Revised AS number policy • The proposed amendment to let LIRs assign non-portable ASN to their customers was supported. • The final call for comments will be re-posted soon. • Experimental internet resource assignments • General idea was supported. • Secretariat to take steps to implement the proposal. • Internet Resources for documentation purposes • General idea proposed was supported. • Address block area should be discussed more

  6. Consensus (III) • IPv4 Allocations by LIRs to ISPs • General idea was supported. • Secretariat to implement the proposal • Needs additional support document to help LIRs to decide allocation sizes. • Some notes about NIR and LIR • Address space NIRs can allocate is portable, but what LIRs can do is non-portable • Only LIR customers can receive non-portable allocations.

  7. Other Informational Topics • 6bone Migration plans - a proposal • Update on opinions on RFC2050 in Japan  • Opinions will be fed back to 6bone community and 2050-wg, respectively. • Large Space IPv4 Trial Usage Program for Future IPv6 Deployment • Deployment Status of Wireless LAN Services • Tried Co-Chair Election, but no one applied. Continues to make efforts to find out.

  8. New systems successfully introduced • “Rapporteur” works well to help people understand • 2 projectors desired • Language translation service stimulates discussion • More evaluation expected • Needs a lot of preparation in advance, including meeting with interpreters • Multi-lingual?
