  5. Pelvis • The pelvis consists of: • Sacrum • Coccyx • 3 Hip Bones • Ilium • Broad, flaring part of the hip bone • Ischium • Helps form the hip • Pubis • Lower, posterior part of the hip

  6. Pelvis • Female • More delicate for child bearing purposes • More relaxed and the sacrum is less curved

  7. Pelvis • Male • Heavier and thicker • Deeper and narrower than the females

  8. Bones of the Leg • Femur • Thigh bone • Strongest and longest bone • Patella • Also known as the “knee cap”
