  2. Writing Scholars Program: About • Open to anyone taking a Blugold Seminar (WRIT 114, WRIT 116, WRIT 118, WRIT 120) • Lasts one semester • Includes regular networking and social events with faculty and Center for Writing Excellence Writing Assistants

  3. Writing Scholars Program: Goals • Help UWEC students develop as writers • Support strong students as they begin to work with academic writing • Recognize the hard work students do as they polish and develop their writing skills • Give writers tangible evidence of their hard work • Certificate to include in portfolios • Information for resumes and CVs

  4. Writing Scholars Program: Requirements • To participate: • Work regularly with Center for Writing Excellence Writing Assistants over the semester • (4-6 visits) • Work with your Blugold Seminar instructor to develop your writing skills • Prepare a short end-of-semester reflection about your work in the CWE

  5. Writing Scholars Program: Benefits • Guidance as you work with unfamiliar writing assignments • Support for experimentation with multimedia projects • Encouragement as you grow as a writer • Help understanding complex writing tasks • Assistance with arcane citation tasks • Streamlined process if you would like to join the CWE staff • Certification of the work you have done to develop your writing abilities
