  1. Destinations of Leavers from Higher Education (DLHE) Strathclyde’s Graduate Destinations

  2. Did you know? • In 2006, 62% of first degree graduates entered employment within six months after graduation. • 19% went on to further study; 3% were unemployed. • 85% of the graduates who found work remained in Scotland.

  3. How do we know this? • The University is required, by law, to provide information about our graduates’ destinations to the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA). • 6 months following graduation the Careers Service will contact you about this.

  4. How does it work? • A questionnaire is posted out to you in November or April (depending on when you graduate). • This is followed up by a telephone survey of those who don’t return a completed form. • Alternatively, the questionnaire can be completed online: www.dlhe.ac.uk

  5. Why bother? The information gathered is used by: • Current students like you As well as: • Careers advisers • University departments/management • Funding Councils • Government Departments

  6. Want to know more? • ‘What Do Strathclyde Graduates Do?’ covers the previous three years’ graduate destinations. • You can access this information from our Resource Centre as well as from:www.strath.ac.uk/careers/market • More information about the survey is found at:www.strath.ac.uk/careers/market/DLHE andwww.hesa.ac.uk. • UK national statistics: www.unistats.com.

  7. You can help • You must keep your contact details up to date. • Use Pegasus and inform Registry of any changes. • Complete and return the questionnaire when you get it! All information received is covered by the Data Protection Act.
