  1. Let's Protect India's Children From Child Marriage According to the Census of 2011, India has 12 million married children, 70% of whom are girls. In India, child marriage has been a widespread tradition for many centuries. It is a pervasive issue that is still prevalent in numerous towns and cities, as well as rural areas. All Indian states practise child marriage to varying degrees, but Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Haryana, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu do it more severely. Child marriage in India deprives children of their basic rights, including freedom from abuse and exploitation, access to regular education, and quality healthcare resources and nutrition. It is a blatant violation of their rights; thus, now more than ever, prompt action is required. Challenges like child marriage and early motherhood prohibit countless girls from realising their goals. They lose not only their childhood but also their potential for a happy and prosperous future, which is a terrible and unfathomable loss. Child marriage affects a person's health, educational possibilities, and many other aspects of life—it brings them down more than we realise as a society. This issue will only get worse as more young girls are married off at an early age to lessen the financial burden on the family. Gender inequality in India is another reason why the safety and well- being of girls are not given due importance. Child marriage has long-lasting, transgenerational impacts that become worse in underdeveloped areas, endangering not only the immediate victims but also subsequent generations. CRY, the most trusted NGO in India, has been working for many years to protect India’s daughters. Donate to CRY to help underprivileged girls avoid child marriage. As a society, we must work together to guarantee that girls attend school rather than getting married off at such an impressionable age or taking up early parenthood.
