She was quiet and looked visibly scared. It didn’t take a lot of time for her mother to notice the unusual change. On asking, Roshni broke down and confided to her mother about how her teacher had touched her private parts. Shocked and bewildered, her mother realized her daughter had been sexually abused by one of her male teachers. This is not a rare occurrence. It is startling and it needs immediate action. Our little girls need to be educated about right and wrong touch. The more aware they are, the easier it is to prevent child sexual abuse. Young girls who face abuse often find it very difficult to overcome it and many a times, they don’t share it with anyone. The emotional trauma leaves a very bad impact thus, creating an under-confident personality. Almost everyday, at least one child abuse case flashes in news. This calls for deep thoughts and conversations on child rights protection and related aspects. Several organizations and child welfare communities are working towards giving a healthy and a safe world to the children.
