Cataloguing Wizard - Serial Control and Check-in Assistance

This tool helps with cataloguing and check-in of serials in the library. It provides options to create serial control records, manage vendor claims, and track expected and received issues. It also generates summary holdings and MARC.Serials.Holdings fields.

  1. To add “free-text summary holdings” in the Cataloguing Wizard

  6. To check-in serials a Serial Control Record must be created in the Serials Control Wizard

  7. Serials toolbar

  8. Creat a vendor for claiming late issues

  9. Create serial control record

  10. Basic folder

  11. Page down Pattern folder

  12. iLink

  13. Fill in 852 & 866 fields

  14. Subscription folder

  15. Change to 1 if you bar code issues

  16. Binding info

  17. Info for tech staff checkin notes etc. Expected and received folders will be empty at this time Still more folders

  18. Routing slip entries

  19. Will create predictions for expected issues

  20. Use 3 letters only

  21. Check in issue

  22. If issue is correct click here

  23. Routing slip

  24. OPAC iLink

  25. 3 latest issues received Free text summary holdings Pattern defined summary holdings

  26. Note: MARC Serials Holdings fields created by checking in issues
