  1. CAR Training ModulePRODUCT REGISTRATION and MANAGEMENT Module 3 - Update / Replace a Document’s Contents (Run as a PowerPoint show) Start>

  2. Scenario: There is a product registered in the CAR as “DEMO GUIDE CAR” for which you have updated content. You want to retain the product’s CAR registered name and URL for the product‘s content because people may have bookmarked it or otherwise linked to it. Example: The original product’s content can be replaced with that from a same-named document on your storage media. Navigate to the Manage Menu and Search for the Product to be updated (example – “DEMO GUIDE CAR”) using manager search Click the Edit Icon to open the product’s metadata Next>

  3. At the metadata edit form, expand the Content Manager Dropdown • Browse to the file on your storage media with the replacement content and click on it to populate the form’s data field. • …then Click the Update button Next>

  4. A Verify Registration Data Screen displays. Verify the data, then enter any desired change history information… Click OK to complete the registration (or cancel to terminate) Next>

  5. The Successful Document Register Response message displays: It provides information about the document and its URL within the CAR. Click OK to close the message screen and return to the Manager Menu screen.
