  2. Gap Analysis Results • LANL has most of the required EMS tools in place but has not integrated them into a usable system. • There is a need for top management engagement. • Gaps exist in training. • Mechanisms needed to integrate across organizations and requirements.

Integration of Programs • LANL EMS Core Team and Element Teams Built from the Division Level up • Linked to Integrated Safety Management • Revisions to ISM Description Document done • Implementing lab-wide communications now • My LANL Portal, Web Access, Software integration • Website: http://ems.lanl.gov/test • EMS Communications Plan - continuous development • Meshing EMS with Integrated Work Controls • Phase II of Integrated Work Management Program links environment, security and quality controls

Environmental Requirements in Integrated Work Mgmt. • Environmental issues equally weighted with safety, health and security • Process identifies environmental aspects and impacts and their controls • Process projects waste volumes • Process identifies environmentally preferable alternatives • Process requires waste disposition pathway and waste management checklist
