  1. Daybreak BEBO Bridges Objective Pavement Barriers The barriers are to be located at both edges of the bridge and will be made of concrete and steel. The concrete will be covered with a masonry design matching the other structures in the area. Asphalt pavement is recommended for use on the bridges due to its lower cost compared to Portland cement concrete and permeable concrete over a 20 year life. Pavement was designed using the Superpave method. Surface and Base Course Aggregate Distribution At the center of the Daybreak community in South Jordan is Oquirrh Lake which will be surrounded by recreational parks with a center island. This island will eventually contain 150 housing units. The island is connected to the mainland development by two twin BEBO arch bridges. Thebridges are constructed, however they lack a designed and finished surface. The purpose of this project was to design the pavement, horizontal alignment, striping, guardrails and a lighting system for the twin BEBO bridges. Barrier Design Plan View It is recommended that 6” of surface mix and 8” of base mix should be used on the compacted fill. The binder grade to be used is PG 58-28. Slurry seal is to be applied as a preventative maintenance measure every two years. Radii were chosen so as to eliminate the need for superelevation.
