Addressing the challenge of 30-40% of incoming freshmen scoring Approaching Basic or Unsatisfactory on the 8th grade LEAP test. This research-based program by Carnegie Learning includes classroom and computer components, correlates to 8th grade GLEs, and spans a 2-year study in high schools and junior high schools. Implemented through a 4x4 block schedule, study groups, and specific courses, it aims to improve student performance and attitudes towards math. Despite challenges in administration, scheduling, and parental involvement, the program has shown promising results in behavior, attitudes, and test scores based on the 2007 i-LEAP Parish Assessments.
