Highlights from Mrs. Thomas’ Grade 2 Classroom: September 9-13

In Mrs. Thomas’ Grade 2 class, we're diving into an exciting week! In Math, students are creating patterns using various attributes like shape, color, and thickness. For Literacy, we're crafting "All About Me" stories and engaging in Daily 5 components like Read to Self and Word Work, along with fun activities manipulating beginning sounds. Don’t forget, the Magazine Campaign starts September 16! A special note from Mrs. Thomas expresses her joy in teaching such a considerate class. Please read nightly with your child. Classroom News September 9th -13th Mrs. Thomas’ Grade 2 Class + A peek at the week + Mark your calendar * * Math: -We are working on creating patterns with different attributes (ie. shape, color, thickness) Literacy: -We will be creating All About Me stories. -We will work on the Daily 5 components : Read to Self, Read to Someone, and Word Work. -We will work on manipulating the beginning sounds of words to make a new word. September 9th- Magazine Campaign starts September 16th- Meet the Teacher A Note from Your Teacher: n n Last week was a great beginning to the school year! I am very excited to be teaching such an awesome class! I have found them to be kind and considerate towards each other. Here’s to a great year!
