  3. Musicians on the Scene **Music: -Billie Holliday: influential jazz and pop singer -Dizzy Gillespie: trend setting jazz musician, composer, band leader, and trumpet player. -Louis Armstrong: revolutionary jazz trumpet player

  4. Popular Entertainment *The Apollo Theatre • A popular theatre used for dancing and musical performances that is still used today. *The Cotton Club - A famous night club where many African American musicians performed.

  5. The Creative Minds of the Time -Langston Hughes: Popular poet, playwright, author, and important figure of the time -Zora Neal Huston: Author of Their Eyes Were Watching God, influential writer of the time.
