Interceptor – Simple Operation Guide To switch on - press top center button – Wait till green display is seen Look at top grey line of boxes on display for button operation information Left Box = Left Button, Center Box = Top Center Button, – Right Box = Right Button Operate in this doserate mode, or in finder mode until alarm is triggered If display goes dark, it will re-light on alarm, or if right button is pressed Press left “Finder” button to enter Finder mode (top display picture) Move unit in search pattern until the highest reading is found – Highest peak on display, highest pitch sound, largest # of gamma CPS on upper display - (2nd display picture) Note upper gamma cps/cpm display reading and note lower neutron cps/cpm reading Press right “Identify” button – Enter Identification mode – Stay near the source Press Left “Start ID” Button – Watch timer countdown – (3rd display picture) Check red bar on right is between arrows – move closer if low and back away if too high Wait for completion of countdown and display of result. Back away from source Note ID results and confidences – There may be one or two isotopes (4th display picture) (Optional) Press left button if you wish to see spectrum – Press left button again to return (Optional) Press right “Desc 1” button. – read 1st isotope description (Optional) Press right “Desc 2” button (if displayed) – read 2nd isotope description Press “Doserate” button to return to normal operation. Reachback with notes taken on IDs and countrates to technical support To Switch off – hold top center button, until all 3 LEDs flash, then release.
