  4. Specialty's (continued) • Fire Prevention • Inspection and Plan Review • Public Education • Fire/Arson Investigation • Explosives Investigation • Juvenile Firesetter Intervention

  5. Emergency Medical Services • Emergency Medical Technician-Basic • 1 full Semester class at Community College • Classes by EMS providers • Classroom • Hands On • Practical experience • Clinical experience (ER, Ambulance Ride-a-longs) • State Exam at end of course • Continuing education after Certification

  6. Emergency Medical Services • Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic • Pre-requisite- 6+ mo experience as an EMT-B • College level course/and degree • 1-2 Yr program • Classes are very competitive to get into • Testing required

  7. Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic • Classroom • A&P, Airway and Respiratory, Cardiac, Trauma, Medical emergencies etc. • Practical (Hands-on Learning) • Clinical • ER, CCU, ICU, OR, NICU, Peds, OB/GYN, • Burn Center, 911 Center, Ambulance Internship • State Exam
