  8. 1. Environmental Impact The Parrot Avenue site limits the negative environmental impact. • Demonstrates environmental stewardship • Emits less greenhouse gasses • Can be energy efficient/meet LEED standards • Preserves historic built environment • Protects open space/natural resources

Sense of Community The Parrot Avenue site preserves and nurtures a sense of community. • Maintains walk-ability • Stays close to community institutions • Integrates kids with multi-generational community • Motivates taxpayers to support school budget • Teaches kids historic preservation • Inspire future generations to protect historic character

Healthy & Safe Environment The Parrot Avenue site ensures a healthy and safe environment. • Higher visibility ensures students remain well behaved and accountable • Close proximity to emergency services, police, fire • More walking - healthier for children • Less driving and bussing - healthier for environment • Parrot Avenue - environmentally safe/no toxicity questions Remain unconvinced that landfill site would be a safe place for a school.
