  1. Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco Electronic Data Submission (EDS) General Overview

  2. What is EDS? EDS stands for Electronic Data Submission. The system was built to provide a way to submit monthly cigarette, tobacco, and alcohol reports electronically.

  3. Where do I find EDS? • Navigate to the Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco’s (AB&T’s) home page, which is on the Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation’s website. • www.myfloridalicense.com/dbpr/abt/index.html • Select the Electronic Data Submission (EDS) link. www.myfloridalicense.com/dbpr/abt/eds/

  4. Why should I submit reports via EDS? Utilizing EDS allows for a more cost efficient and accurate method of filing, unlike submitting paper forms. Electronic reporting reduces the need for paper storage and allows for quicker future reference. The cost of monthly postage is no longer necessary. Since monthly reports need to be postage stamped by the 10th of each month at the latest, EDS provides a full 24 hours for submission electronically. Numerous tutorials are available to aid in the completion and submission of the various online reports. There is instant feedback that the State has received your report. The system places your information into all applicable areas and performs the calculations automatically for you, lessening chances of mathematical errors.

  5. Reports can be submitted in one of two ways. Web-based Reporting: Recommended for small to medium size filers. This method allows the user to enter data directly into a web interface. Internet Explorer is highly recommended when utilizing monthly web-based reporting. Batch Upload (FTP) Reporting: Recommended for medium to large organizations. This method requires your data center or IT person to create a flat file and upload it to the Division of Alcoholic Beverages & Tobacco’s servers via File Transfer Protocol (FTP). How do I submit reports?

  6. How do I register? • Regardless of the submission option (web-based or FTP), the system will prompt user registration and creation of a user account. • Several instructional tutorials and FAQs have been provided on the Division of Alcoholic Beverages & Tobacco’s website to aid in the process of registration.

  7. EDS Log In Once a user account has been created and a password selected, submission of monthly reports will be enabled via login through EDS.

  8. User’s Main Screen After the EDS login, the next screen will provide links to the report(s) each user is required to file. These links will be found under File a New Report. Instructional PowerPoints are provided as references for each type of report available.

  9. Report Confirmation Once a report is submitted, EDS will provide a confirmation message. This confirmation message must be received for there to have been a successful submission.

  10. Technical Support EDS.SUPPORT@DBPR.STATE.FL.US Contact EDS Support for technical questions or to report a problem. If you need assistance filling out a report, contact your district office.
