Exercise • Weight Control • Physical activity burns calories • The more intense the activity is, the more calories are burned • Calories can be burned even with the simplest of household chores
Exercise • Fights Diseases • Physical activity can help prevent numerous diseases • Some include heart disease, high blood pressure and type two diabetes
Exercise • Improves Mood • Just thirty minutes of exercise a day can help • Physical activity stimulates brain chemicals that can help you feel better • This also leads to a positive boost of self-esteem
Exercise • Boosts Energy • Physical activity improves muscle strength and boosts endurance • Also exercising delivers oxygen and nutrients throughout the body • This helps the body work more efficently
Nutrition • Improved Energy • Healthy carbohydrates include fruits, vegetables and whole grains • By eating these it helps keep energy levels stable because it takes longer to break down • Example of a good breakfast could be oatmeal with fruit
Nutrition • Weight Control • For one not to gain weight they must burn the same amount of calories that they eat • High calorie foods, such as fast food, lead to weight gain
