  2. Topic Sentence • Should tell the reader what you are going to write about. Example: There are many issues about not getting enough time off during summer break.

  3. Supporting evidence • Give examples of the topic sentence. Example: Like, at our school we get only a month when other surrounding schools get 2 months. My parents don’t get enough time to plan a long vacation with me.

  4. Concluding Sentence • This sentence should summarize your main thoughts. Example: As students, we are not able to concentrate during the normal school year without proper time off of homework and assignments.

  5. Let’s put it together Summer Break There are many issues regarding the length of summer break. At our school, we only get one month off when other schools get two months. My parents can’t even plan a long enough vacation with me because I have to go back to school so soon. A s students we need a break from homework and assignments so we can concentrate more during the normal school year.

  19. Descriptive • Descriptive writing brings the words to life. • Think about colors or images you see • Smells, Tastes and things you feel. • You can use simile or analogies. • Going on this field trip is like going on a family vacation.

Narrative • A narrative writing can be personal historical or fictional. • Plot: Your Story action of events • What is happening? • Conflict, adventure or experience. • Characters: Don’t forger to introduce your characters • How are they related to the event or story • Setting: Help the reader understand where the story takes place • Create the mood of your story.
