  1. Building a Home for God

  2. Ephesians 2:19-22 Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow-citizens with God's people and MEMBERS OF GOD'S HOUSEHOLD, 20 built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. 21 In him the whole building is JOINED TOGETHER and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. 22 And in him you too are being BUILT TOGETHER to become a DWELLING in which GOD LIVES BY HIS SPIRIT.

  3. Ephesians 2:19-22 Message God is building a home...a temple in which God is quite at home.

  4. Graham Cooke “The church is the dwelling place of God by the Spirit. He lives in our relationships, not in our meetings. It is the love or lack of it between God’s people that attracts Him to us or denies Him access. We are living stones being fitted together with others to provide a home for God in our friendships.”

  5. Bethel= stones built together to make a house Ai= a heap of stones

  6. Stones beneath • Stones next to • Stones above

  7. Graham Cooke “Each of us is a living stone whom God is shaping to fit alongside someone else in the house of the Lord. Together in our friendships we can become a dwelling place of God by the Spirit. The Lord is not shaping us in isolation from one another. How we allow ourselves to be fitted together is the acid test of how much God can trust us with His power and anointing.”

  8. Matthew 7:12 So in everything, DO TO OTHERS WHAT YOU WOULD HAVE THEM DO TO YOU, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.

  9. Marbles in a bag or jigsaw puzzle?

  10. Graham Cooke “We cannot merely pray down the presence of God; we must attract Him by the quality of our relationships...There is a blessing in unity that attracts the Holy Spirit. There is a curse in disunity that attracts the demonic.”

  11. John 13:34-35 "A new command I give you: LOVE ONE ANOTHER. As I have loved you, so you must LOVE ONE ANOTHER. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you LOVE ONE ANOTHER."

  12. One another's

  13. Romans 12:10 Be DEVOTED to ONE ANOTHER in brotherly love. HONOUR ONE ANOTHER above yourselves.

  14. Galatians 5:13 You, my brothers, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the sinful nature; rather, SERVE ONE ANOTHER in love.

  15. Ephesians 4:2-3 Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, BEARING WITH ONE ANOTHER in love. 3 Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.

  16. Colossians 3:12-14 Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. 13 Bear with each other and FORGIVE whatever grievances you may have against ONE ANOTHER. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. 14 And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.

  17. 1 Peter 3:8-9 Finally, all of you, live in HARMONY with ONE ANOTHER; be sympathetic, love as brothers, be compassionate and humble. 9 Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult, but with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing.

  18. Galatians 5:15 (NKJ) But if you BITE AND DEVOUR ONE ANOTHER, beware lest you be CONSUMED by ONE ANOTHER!

  19. Galatians 5:26 (NKJ) Let us not become conceited, PROVOKING ONE ANOTHER, ENVYING ONE ANOTHER.

  20. James 4:11 Brothers, do not SLANDER ONE ANOTHER. Anyone who speaks against his brother or judges him speaks against the law and judges it.

  21. Let us build a home for the Presence of God by our love for one another!
