  2. John 14 1-3 (NIV) Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.

  3. Hebrews 6:18-20 We who have fled to take hold of the hope set before us may be greatly encouraged. We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain, where our forerunner, Jesus, has entered on our behalf.

  4. Here then at home, by no more storms distrest, Folding laborious hands we sit, wings furled; Here in close perfume lies the rose-leaf curled.Here the sun stands and knows not east nor west,Here no tide runs; we have come last and best,From the wide zone in dizzying circles hurledTo that still centre where the spinning worldSleeps on its axis, to the heart of rest.

  5. Lay on thy whips, O Love, that me upright,Poised on the perilous point, in no lax bedMay sleep, as tension at the verberent coreOf music sleeps; for, if thou spare to smite,Staggering, we stoop, stooping, fall dumb and dead,And, dying so, sleep our sweet sleep no more.
