  1. 1. Water circulation and the process of material transport. Activities 2007. Attended Asia Geo-Science 4 annual meeting, Bangkok, 30july - 4August-07. Attended JSPS meeting, Yogyakarta, August, 07. Research on Hydro-Ocenographycal characteristic of Klabat Bay, Bangka. Research on Sea surface chlorophyl-a variability in the Lampung Bay, Sout Sumatera. Researh on Nutrient budget in Jakarta Bay. Research on Tidal modelling in Malaka Strait.

  2. Activities 2008. • Reserch on Seasonal variability of sea surface chlorophyl-a and their impact on the productivity of seasonal pelagic fish in the coastal area of South Kalimanatan Indonesia. • Research on Current model of the Jakarta Bay. • Research on Marine environment study at Abang Island Tanjung Riau, Batam and Lampung Bay. • Marine enviromnet study at Maduara Strait and Jakarta Bay. • Current Model of Jakarta Bay. • Result of those research will be presented at IOC/WESTPAC, meeting in Kinabalu and JSPS meeting – in Fukuda 2009.

Ecology and Oceanography of HAB. • Activities 2007. • Attended JSPS-LIPI meeting Yogyakarta, 3-5 August -07. 9 papers and 3 posters presented. • JSPS-LIPI, Training Course on methods of zooplankton ecology and identification in Research Center for Biology, Cibinong, Indonesia, 25-31 Oct-07. Attended by 25 participants. • Attended International Zooplankton Production Symp, Hirosima, Japan. 28-May-1june. • Attended the 21 Pacific Science Conggress, Okinawa, june 12-18.

Activities 2008 • Research on Biodiversity and ecological roles of jellyfishes and ctenophores in Indonesia waters. • Coordinaton meeting for project plan will be held in Tokyo. 7-17 – May -2008. • Joint research in Malaysia waters, middle Oct,08. • Plan for publication : Three new species of Pontellopsis. Two new species of Kelleria. Some new species of Copepod calanoid from Lembeh Strait, Bitung, North Celebes.

Biodiversity in the coastal water. • Activities 2007 • Attended LIPI-JSPS Seminar, Yogyakarta, 3-5 Augst 2007. 9 Papers and 5 posters were presented. • Research on biodiversity in Lampung Bay. • Joint research on Biodiversity of Raja Ampat Island. Widya Nusantara. Expedition. • Post tsunami assessment on the marine resources.

  6. Activites 2008 • Coordination meeting of the fishes group ORI, University of Tokyo, 24-31 Mar 2008. Genetic population and Spawning ecology of Eel (2008-2010). Joint Research using Hakuho Maru, March 2010. in Tomini Bay and Sulawesi sea. • Attend the fish workshop, Thailand, Dec 2008. • Research on the status of ecosytem of lampung bay for spacial planing. • Research on Biodiversity in Raja Ampat, Widya Nusantara expedition. • Study of Fishes diversity in the south Jawa sea.

  7. 4. Pollution of Hazardous Chemical in the coastal. • Activities 2007 • Attended LIPI-JSPS Joint seminar. Yogyakarta, 3-5 Augst 2007. 5 Paper and 3 Poster presented. • POME group conducted sampling sediment and biota in Jakarta Bay. • Joint research on the distribution of heavy metal contaminant, organotin componds and other persistent organic pollutans in west Java. • Research of the fate of trace metal contaminants and persistence organic pollution (POPs). • Carried out mini warkshop on pollution of hazardous chemicals in the coastal marine environment. RCO-LIPI, Jakarta.

  8. Activities 2008 • Riview the status of Jakarta Bay in the last 20 years, in term of geology, water quility, biodiversity and current pattern. • Research on the fate of trace metals contaminant in Berau Delta and dynamic system of water mass. • Survey on the distribution of contaminants heavy metal, organotin coumponds and other persistence organic pollutant in West Jawa, North Sulawesi and Papua. • Plankton sampling from north Sulawesi waters for butyltin coumponds. • Research on bioassaya of Tributyltins (TBT) using zooplankton as test animals.
