  1. Stop the Torture!! Trout fishing on the Tellico River

  2. This is a healthy, native Brook Trout

  3. Trout Fishing on the Tellico • Each day on the Tellico River dozens of fishermen catch hundreds of fish. • Thousands of fish are caught monthly • Tens of thousands of fish are caught annually

  4. Trout Fishing on the Tellico • The fish—who peacefully swam in the Tellico only minutes before—are disemboweled. Their entrails ripped out and thrown in the river

  5. Brook Trout • Once alive, this Brook Trout now resides– stuffed—on a Trout Fisherman’s mantle. A trophy of its own death.

  6. Brook Trout • The United States Forest Service has stated a goal of protecting the native Brook Trout They intend to accomplish this by minimizing watershed sedimentation but ignore the real killer….

  7. Rainbow Trout • Rainbow Trout are native to a small watershed in Great Britain. They are a popular sportfish that has been introduced worldwide. These voracious fish eat faster and more than the native Brook trout, leading to mass Brook trout starvation.

  8. Rainbow Trout • The small “Brookies” can’t compete…

  9. Rainbow Trout • The Forest Service poisons the River with rotenone… …yet continues to stock Rainbows…

  10. Catch and Release • Instead of immediately and humanely killing their catch, trout fishing “purists” believe in “Catch and Release” fishing.

  11. Catch and Release • Believing that the fish will live to be caught another day, the trout have been yanked from their aquatic home, returned near death, and die a slow, painful death out of sight of the “purists”.

  12. Catch and Release • Removing this hook will cause irreparable damage. This fish will never again be able to eat a live fly or aquatic insect. It will die a horrible death of starvation.

  13. This fish will die This fish will die It is already dying

  14. This fish will die This fish will die They are already dead

  15. Please Help • Will this Brookie live or be doomed to starvation at the hands of bigger Rainbows or death by Catch and Release? She needs your help now. Please call the United States Forest Service and demand that trout fishing on the Tellico be banned immediately!! You are her only hope.
